Hello!
Excited to announce something new and fun coming your way soon! MARCH 2026
With the help of my friend and business partner Danielle, we are creating a Youtube show designed for children 2-8 years old. TinyTalkers is designed for children who are delayed, meeting milestones, and those ready to learn more!
A little background....
There are SO many choices out there on youtube and other platforms to watch shows that are "made" for kids, however when we started looking into them for our own children, and we were both overwhelmed with sensory oversupply with options as well as disappointed in the content and ideas they pushed into kids shows.
We wanted to create a fun, interactive and learning show, but make it less of a sensory overload with lower stimulation.
One of the biggest concerns with screens now, is the affect on attention spans. This is due to many aspects, below are a few:
Short screen shots- in the 80s/90s screen shots lasted 6-12+ seconds, while often today they are below 3 seconds. This trains the mind to be ready to jump to the next thing/idea rather that waiting---or building attention.
Flashy/bright colors- most kids shows now are inundated with bright lights, flashes of animation and bright colors. Built to attract attention and keep it by changing constantly (see above).
Quick dialogue/low meaning- Wait time has almost disappeared in kids shows. Think back to my personal favorites---bear in the big blue house, blues clues---they would ask questions, then WAIT for kids to "respond" this is such a great technique and strategy to use for all ages.
As a Speech therapist, I always recommend limiting screens, and being very selective in the screen time given to kids. My goal is to have any screen time with TinyTalkers be impactful and filled with learning. I have SO many ideas for the future of this show, and incorporating strategies and learning moments for parents as well. I will be adding short "parent videos" providing strategies, ideas or other helpful info specific to the videos!
